It is with unimaginable shock and sadness that we share with you the terrible news that our beloved son and brother, Christopher John Smith, has unexpectedly passed away.
Chris, who was just 26, died suddenly on Friday, July 17, 2020. His two best and devoted canine buddies, Charley and Mocha, never left his side and we are so grateful for the comfort they undoubtedly provided Chris.
Chris was a warrior. He fought every day to make sure his epilepsy didn’t define who he was or what he could do. A kind and gentle soul, Chris gave far more to this world than he took from it, always thinking of others before himself and always wanting everyone to feel included.

He will be forever missed by his parents Valerie and Brian, his dad Jeff, brother Daniel (Jesse), special sisters Kristin (Curtis) and Andrea (Jared), his grandparents Bruce and Linda Smith, Nana J, Aunt Nancy, Uncle Dan, cousins Kristyne (Meg) and Scott, and many dear friends.

*Visitation will be held at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In light of the uncertain COVID-19 environment, a celebration of Chris’ life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’ name to the RVH Foundation or the Ontario SPCA – Orillia Animal Centre would be greatly appreciated.

The greatest tribute to Chris’ life would be for you to fondly recall and share stories of this remarkable young man, and treat others with the kindness he so valued.

*In accordance to directives put in place by provincial governing bodies and the Public Health Unit, there will be a limit on the number of people permitted into Adams Funeral Home at one time.

Please note that wearing a facial covering and adhering to physical distancing directives are mandatory.

No gathering is permitted in the funeral home parking lot please.
