Our hearts are broken as we share with you that our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and brother-in-law, Jim Tizzard, has passed away, surrounded by his family and much love. He faced a November 2017 diagnosis of lung cancer stoically and with determination chose to fight his hardest. Sadly the “enemy” was ever-changing. Jim was predeceased by his parents Eliab & Virtue Tizzard, in-laws Harry & Phyllis Strong and brother, Roy. Left with amazing memories and the knowledge that we were deeply and profoundly loved by this special man are his wife, Marion (Strong), sons Terry (Cheryl) and Jason (Rose), his grandchildren and bright lights every single day, Ashley (Princess), Krystofer and Angelika. Also mourning are his devoted Newfoundland family – Harold (Beatrice), Dick (Gerry), Joyce (Gordon Hopkins),Bob (Bernice), Rita (Robert Green, deceased) and sisters-in-law Elsie (Brian Doyle), Margie (Carl Tucker), Mabel (Roy, predeceased). Jim’s nieces and nephews were such supporters throughout this 2 year journey and we have valued every single token of support from daily words of encouragement and hope (Tracy), numerous texts, emails, phone calls, music videos, photos … all so special. The support from our friends has been exceptional .. we have felt your hugs and special caring and will never forget it.
Throughout the journey, our family doctor, Dr. Seward, and his team walked every step with us. Jim learned to value and trust the health care system through relationships and care at the Stronach Cancer Centre and for many emergency care needs at RVH. We, his family, are so grateful.
In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has occurred. A celebration of his life will be held at Collier Street United Church in Barrie on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in summer 2020 at the United Church Cemetery in Old Perlican, Newfoundland.
