Jocelyne Aline Marie Woods (nee Larivière)
December 6, 1951 – July 16, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, and nana, Jocelyne Woods.

On July 16, 2020, at the age of 68 and just one day shy of her 49th wedding anniversary, Jocelyne passed away peacefully with her beloved Tom by her side, and after sharing time with her sons and grandchildren.  She leaves us after a short, but determined battle with ALS.

Born in Destor, Quebec, Jocelyne was a very loving, caring, and compassionate person, enriching the lives of those she touched.  Her professional life was driven by her tenacity and attention to the fine details, complimented by a genuine desire to serve and please her clients.  Throughout her 33-year career with the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), she assisted her clients and coworkers in achieving their financial and personal goals, proudly earning her the Leo award, one of the bank’s highest honours.

Jocelyne’s pride and joy was her family.  She will be remembered by all who knew her, especially her loving husband Tom, sons Steven (Alannah) and Jason (Olivia), grandchildren Turner, Sutter, Isabelle, Adeline, Jackson, and Matthew, and living siblings Celine, Steve, and Lisa (William) Robbins.  Jocelyne was predeceased by parents Welly and Ghislaine (nee Gourde) Larivière, and brothers Serge and Rejean.

The family would like to thank her caregivers over the past few months for their support during her determined battle with ALS, including Bayshore Home Health caregivers, Irene and Alysha, nurse Debbie, the ALS support team from Sunnybrook Hospital, North Simcoe Home and Community Care, and the support doctors and nurses of Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie.  We would also like to thank the RBC family, friends, and neighbours for their support and comfort.

*Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In light of some recent events, Jocelyne’s service will not be live streamed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jocelyne’s name to the RVH Foundation ( or the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated.

The greatest tribute to Jocelyne’s life would be for you to fondly recall and share stories of her remarkable life and career, and treat others with the same genuine approach to life and love as she did.

*In accordance with directives put in place by provincial governing bodies and the Public Health Unit, there will be a limit on the number of people permitted into Adams Funeral Home at one time.

Please note that wearing a facial covering and adhering to physical distancing directives are mandatory.

No gathering is permitted in the funeral home parking lot please.
