Julia C. Hanson
March 30, 1988 - November 16, 2021
(HANSON, Julia Claire) – It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Julia Hanson on November 16, 2021 at the age of 33. Julia is lovingly remembered by her father Bruce (Deb), her mother Theresa (Edgar), her sister Cori (Dan), her daughter Victoria, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Julia struggled with a substance abuse disorder and general and social anxiety disorders for many years. Committed to the need for recovery, Julia entered treatment programs several times.
Julia loved being a mother to Victoria. She was happiest when she spent time playing and doing crafts with her daughter. Julia also loved animals and music. She was a skilled horseback rider and violinist, enjoyed snowboarding and loved spending time at the cottage. Julia will be remembered most for her vibrant personality and sense of humour. She loved to laugh and was good at making others find joy in simple moments. She is deeply missed.
A private family funeral service will be held for Julia on December 14 and a Celebration of Life for friends and loved ones will be held in the new year.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Julia’s memory to the Jean Tweed Centre located in Toronto would be appreciated.
