In loving memory of Normand Joseph Edward Chaperon who passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie. With his children by his side, he cherished every moment of life up to his last breath. Beloved father of Renée & Mason Ainsworth of Orillia and Anthony Chaperon of Barrie. Special pépère to his “p’tit pouce” Seth Dignard and his furry grandchildren Duke and Penutz. Special father-in-law to Simon Dignard (Julie) of St. Charles. Dear brother of Donald, Lucien, Léo, Rolland, Annette, Yvette, Léona, Carmen, Alice and Lorraine (all predeceased). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Norm was always known as the protector and loved his family more than anything. Master of linguistics (so he thought), he created his own language that his kids named the “Normaneze”, which only his grandson could understand. He spent every waking moment of his last few weeks laughing, cracking jokes and took it upon himself to bring sunshine to the palliative care unit at Health Sciences North by singing and telling stories from “Norms bag of 99.9% bullsh*t”, as he called it. A special thank you to all his nurses and PSW’s on the 4th floor at Health Sciences North and at Hospice Simcoe. Memorial donations to Hospice Simcoe (Barrie) or the Markstay and District Food Bank would be appreciated.
