Passed away peacefully at Grove Park Nursing Home, Barrie on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 93. Bob is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 71 years. Loving father of David Purvis, Debra Lawson and the late Douglas Purvis. Cherished grandfather of Lindsay Loft. Bob is also survived by his sister Bernice Black. Bob was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. Bob worked for Canada Wire and Cable in Leaside, Ontario for 42 years as a Plant Manager and later as a Quality Assurance Manager before his retirement in 1985. Bob and Dorothy enjoyed their retirement years in Bobcaygeon, Ontario before moving to Barrie to be closer to family. Bob was described as a warm, kind and generous person who never talked ill about anyone and always made the time for people. He loved gardening, classical music and had a witty sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family through adamsfuneralhome.ca
