November 24, 1937 - September 30, 2021
Ronald E. Smith, passed away peacefully at his home, in his 84th year, on September 30, 2021. Ron is deeply missed by Michelle, his beloved and devoted wife of 27 years.
Loving father of Kelly Jane Smith (John Kenwell) and proud grandfather of Alexzender Smith (Eden Hennessey). Cherished stepfather of Jacquie Potter Harvey (Troy Whitmore) and Sheri Potter Rumball (Mike).
Dear grandfather of Jeff Harvey (Emma Fleury), Jessica Baker (Ty), Sarah Hunter (Brady), Andrew Rumball (Stephanie), and Brandon Rumball (Echo). Ron leaves behind great grandchildren Bruce Fleury-Harvey, Kennedy and Beverly Baker, and Oliver and Van Hunter.
Ron is survived by his siblings Vernon (Betty) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Glenn of Peterborough.
Ron is predeceased by his first wife Shirley Bain, as well as his siblings Jane Hare, Brian Smith, and Sally Burnett.
Ron made many lifelong connections on the hockey rink, in grocery stores, pool halls, at hunt camps, and around the backyard pool.
A heartfelt thank you to Ron’s beloved niece Lisa and her husband Rob Kuehl, their children Benjamin, Sophia, and Lucy, for their support, care and love provided to Ron and Michelle.
In addition, Michelle would like to acknowledge the unwavering compassion, kindness and expertise extended by the Nurses and Support Staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital Dialysis Centre. Over the course of the past eight years, you became a cornerstone in Ron’s life and were instrumental in supporting him. Cremation has taken place.
